Lost Church Investigation IV
10-24-2002

Description - EVP - Sound Anomalies - Photos - Stats

Description      Before this church abandoned in the 1920's, it was an African American church during a time of racial segregation. This could be why this church is located in the middle of nowhere, miles into a country road. The church was very strict, and the previous owner of the church even says that the preacher would use belts to discipline children. The church was abandoned after the preacher had a heart attack and died inside the church.

This church is in surprisingly good condition, considering it has been abandoned for over half a century. One would think it would be the biggest party spot for local teens, but it shows no signs that anyone has even stepped inside the church since it was abandoned. Other than minimal weather damage, it is is near-perfect condition.

This was a follow up investigation for the Muskogee Daily Phoenix article. Julie came out agian, and was joined by Jerry, a photographer from the newpaper to take some pictures for the article. This night started out like any other normal night, and ended being one of the most interactive nights yet at the church.

Mary set out a walkie-talkie, because we've found spirits have the ability to turn on these walkie-talkies, either by actually manipulating something internally, or by putting out a radio frequency similar to that of the walkie-talkie's. After about 10 minutes of setting up, the walkie talkie clicks on like someone is trying to call it once. With just one burst like this, we just assumed it was an overlapping frequency, even though we were in the middle of nowhere. Then a minute later, the walkie-talkie signal starts flickering, and pulses on and off at around 30hz, and stops. This was very interesting, only a pulsating radio frequency signal would cause this, not a frequency overlap from say a passing truck CB radio. A few minutes later, it starts again, Mary tells it to stop, it does for a moment, then gradually starts up, and Mary says stop again, and not to break the walkie-talkie, and it stops.

The photographer had 2 camera flashes set up on each side of the room, that run of radio frequencies, too. They are ment to go off with his camera, which has a RF transmitter. After the walkie-talkie incident, one flash started flashing by itself. Because only one flash went off, it is most likely not a distant signal at the same frequency, because the other would have gone off, too. Just to be safe, though he changed channels on the flashes. This didn't solve the problem one bit, they still were being set off by an unseen force or RF frequency.

After this, we tried a little experiment, we played a game Mary made up called "Rap-Rap". Mary would knock, and they had to knock or respond back the same number of times. Mary knocks once, and after about a minute the walkie-talkie clicks on once. The walkie-talkie hadn't gone off for about 30 minutes, it is interesting it chooses now to go off by itself. Then Mary knocks 3 times. For those of you who thing the walkie-talkie and camera flashes were just caused by overlapping radio frequencies in the air, he's a new one for you. A few seconds after Mary knocks, three unexplainable knocks came back, two loud and one smaller, all in a row. After playing this game for a while to learn more about the entities that reside in the church, Julie and the photographer left. Mary and I stayed for a while to let the recorders run out of time, and had a few notable events while we were there. On two seperate occassions, there loud stomps on the ground. It literally sounded and felt as if someone stomped their foot on the ground VERY hard. I could feel the force from across the room, and feel the ground shake.

The next day, Orion, from Orion's Paranormal Research came down, and Orion and I drove down to the church during the day. We just wanted to show Orion the church, because he's heard so much about it, but had never been. I took some photos to see what I could get during the day, and got a few really good daytime orbs and plasmoids, in BROAD DAYLIGHT! These are very rare, click here to see some daytime orbs I've gotten.

This is a great sound anomaly... Mary asks the entities if they can set the meter off 3 times, then she knocks three times. Instead of setting the meter off, they tap back 3 times. Mary then says "While you speak to me if I come closer?", and you hear an unknown male voice (EVP) say "I couldn't".
